Hello to everyone again! Once again having too much fun to fill in this blog, but since we are leaving Koh Tao today and heading back up to Bangkok (it's like the connecting place for.. Everything!) so we can go to Cambodia, i thought i better get on top of it!
Well, Koh Tao is just so chilled out and we love it... Left Bangkok last and got the night train down to Surathani and then the ferry into Koh Pangan.. Went to the place we had booked for over 3 weeks and the lady says "oh!! We have to room for you.. You have to stay in Ha'ad rin".. The whole point we booked ahead was cos we heard horror stories about staying in Ha'ad Rin (this is the place where full moon party is) stuff going missing etc, but after Paul stood and argued (like he loves to do) saying he was gonna go kill Jeffrey, the guy in Bangkok who booked it, we had no choice cos there was no room. They gave us a free lift to the place in Ha'ad Rin which was almost on the Full Moon Beach in some shack like bungalow.. The ceiling didnt reach the top of the walls so there was this massie gap which is an invite to anything tht can fly/crawl to come stay the night! We made sure to put of mozzy net down and headed out.. Needles to say when we got in there was something in our room that decided to eat it's kill on our bed (ate everything but its wings) and then S**t it's kill back out onto our bed and just chilled in the rafters above our bed!!... After about 5 mins of trying to work out what it was we heard it... "ahahahahaha-Geko!! Geko!!" and if you havent seen a big lizard just imagine an Iguana. Paul has grown a phobia of them now, though he won't admit it. Didnt sleep here, they droe us somewhere else again which was ok, on the beach in a bungalow again but we came prepaed with mozzy spray/burner/killer and candles?! Chilled here and then the second night was the full moon party...
Full Moon was mad, the beach was really nice and there was just a string of bars (this place is more like a clubbing holiay) they set up for the Full Moon when everyone was chilling on the beach, UV lights, stages and every little stall with buckets and inside the buckets either vodka, wiskey, JD etc, can of coke and Thailands version of Red Bull (two or more and you heart will beat outta ya chest).. We all headed back to room and got ready, covered ourselves in flourescent paint, glitter and all wore full moon vests.. Was one of the best nights ever, it was just like one crazy rave, te beach was packed and the music was sooo loud. Everyone was dancing about, there was fire dancers and a fire hoop you could jump thru or a fire skipping rope, everyone who was doing it was of their faces mind. lol!.....And then there's the hill "Mushroom Mountain" for your shakes and weed..It's just a bar at the top of a hill but there is the best view of the beach, we sat up there till it started getting light then headed back down onto beach for sunrise.. By this time everyone was just lay down on the beach in a big line watching the sun. Team Newcastle did ok, we partied till 10.30am and then had to go back to our place, pack our bags up and move again! Lost a day here cos we didnt know what was going on so i'll move on!
Left Pangan early cos to be honest was too expensive and we were sick of it already.. Headed over to Koh Tao with one of the couples we met in Loas and staying right on the beach. This is by far one of the nicest places we have been to datw. Loads of bars along the beach, bed things to lie on and "CHOPPERS BAR" they have a big projector upstairs in their bar, like a cinema, and they do the best food though now we realise we gotta budget a bit better so we're living on Tom Yum Sum pot noodles, but not "pot noodles".. Paul has just done his PADI too which means he can now dive alone to 18m, i was gonna do a Thai massage course for 7 days but turned out im talking outta my backside again and realised i couldnt be bothered and just lay in the sun!.. Yes, i now have a tan... FINALLY!
So leaving here today and going back to Bangkok and then getting the bus into Cambodia.. Heard some pretty good thing about it and apparently there is a beach resort that is lovely so we're gonna stay here a bit and meet up with some ppl we have been traveling with..
Ok, that's me done.. Ferry today and VIP bus over night. Honest, when you say your going traveling, that's the biggest understatement ever! To get anywhere, 12 hours!...... Thank god for sleeping pills!
Take care will mail soon.
Lots of love
Trina and "PADI" paul xx
