Hi everyone! Hope you are all well. Gotta little bit more time to type today as we are currently "chilling out"....
Had such a fab few days. Had a few too many the other night along the Khao san Road and stumbled into a Tour Operators at 11pm and decided to book a day trip to the Floating Marekts, Bridge over the River Kwai and The Tiger Temples (all in one day as a 1 trip tho, we didnt go mad and start booking everything) the bad part was we had to be up at 6 the next morning :-(
Met a lovely couple on the bus there and had a laugh. Market was mad. All the Thai people get really bad boat rage, there is no one way system and the rivers aren't wide at all. The lady steering our boat if you like was blind in one eye and Paul swears thats why she was ramming the other boats and couldnt take corners!
Next stop was the Bridge over the River Kwai aka The Death Rail Bridge... It's clear to see why.. Thailand has no Health and Safety rules, whatsoever. There is a thin piece of steel that you walk across (baring in mind it's an active bridge for the train) and if you even dared to step onto the bit of rickerty wood eitherside of the steel you were over the edge. The bridge had sides... It just didnt have a bottom, apart from this one bit of steel?! Very funny with Paul about who isnt to fond of hights!
After about several hours on the bus we finally made it to Tiger Temple which is just an open plan Zoo for tigers. There was lovely Goats and Horses, as well as wild Boar etc just kicking about but tiers were chained up.. FANTASTIC! We had our pics taken with them, stroking them etc and gotta chance to sit and stroke the little ones. Cant upload pics at the min but have a good one of me and Paul sitting on a ledge stroking the cubs....Well, i was, Paul jumped up as he says thew were ready for attack... Photo shows him jumping outa his seat!
Totally burned out now, in Ayuatthaya today looking at all the old temples.. Tour guide dropped us off in the middle of nowhere at 2.30 pm for our night train at 9.30pm. Thank god for Lonely Planet guide. Found a nice place (here now) with a pool you can pay to use and a shower so chilling here for 6 hours then will get to Chang Mai in the morning.... Oh, 36 Degrees today too. Think i have sweat my body weight... Nice!
Spk soon. xxxx
