Well.. Firstly, hello all!
Back in Bangkok which means we made it all the way thru Laos.. Obviously having so much fun i couldn't even do my blog!! Al split this into sections tho so i know where im at!
Left Chang Mai and headed for Chang Kong (the river crossing to Laos) bust took 5 1/2 hours, was so glad to get there although it wasn't the best place! Mine and Paul's room was missing some mesh from the windows so we shared our room with 5 lizards (urgh) didnt sleep a wink!!!.... Had our supper and met some lovely people as everyone there is heading for Mekong River, Laos. Woke up in the morning and opened my birthday cards which was nice (thanx for the money Dawn & mam... It went very far!)
Got on the Slow Boad after the Immigration point in Laos and me and Paul sat with another couple (Kathy and Richard) and two girls (Helen and Emily).. Good job we met some ppl cos the journey was sooooo long! "Slow Boat" really says it all. They packed us on like Sardines onto wooden seats and we sailed for 8.5 hours, was a good laugh though. By the time we made it to Pak Beng everyone Found Paul so funny and anal he couldn't help but make a plan. We were all hot and just thought f**k it, we get the best hotel here.. He gave us all jobs, mine was to watch the bags cos at that moment in time i couldnt get my backpack on my own back anyways without a helping hand. Kathy and Richard ran for the best hotel to get 3 rooms. Helen kept a watchful eye out for ppl trying to take our bags (apparently it happens) and Emily assisted Paul who was throwing little Laos kids left and right so he could get our bags...
Hotel was lovely and it was my birthday so we went for a curry and had a few Beer Laos' as you could either have that or Wiskey.... Nothing else, thats the only alchohol then we headed for the hotel.. Bought a bottle of Wiskey but when some bizzare creature landed in my hair and got stuck that just put me off my drink! Generator switched off at 10.30 anyways so we "torched it" upstairs to our lovely hotel room and slept like babies!
Next day on the Slow Boat was pretty much the same, same time scale but we met some more ppl and by the time we got to Lan Prakbang we were traveling in a big group.. This place was lovely, all opver Laos there is a 12pm drinking cerfew but we got a Tuk Tuk to a Bowling Alley and carried on our drinking party. Sayed here for a few days as there was a lovely night market and lovely bars then headed for Vang Vien where you can go TUBING....
Vang Vien is soooo nice, loads of people end up stuck here between all the weed they smoke or mushroom teas/shakes they have. By far this is one of my favorite places. We had the best view from our balcony of the lovaly mountains and the river... There was loads of token friends bars where you can go in and lie down on beds and eat watching friends all night (we did a few times). Second day we decided to go Tubing wich was the best thing i have ever done! Hire you massive rubber ring and a wet bag (cab you believe life jackets were optional?!) and get your Tuk Tuk to the river. As soon as we were there you could hear all the music. We jumped in out Tubes and floated down the river to the first bar which was only about 20 metres. They hauled us in and we just all got straight on the drink.. Almost every bar had a river swing so ppl are jumping in the lake and somersaulting off the swing, luckily enough one of the girls had a waterproof camera so we got some good pics..We all stuck together down the river and by the last bar everyone was hammere/stoned/or had too many mushroom shakes but we had such the best time.. It honestly is so hard to explain without being there yourself..
We decided to stay here a few more nights as we all loved it and we saw the best thunderstorm i have ever seen in my life! The power went off so me and Paul watched it from our window. There was so much rain but by the time we woke up the next day everything was dry again..
We made it to Vientine (capital of Laos) and stayed there for a few hours before getting the night bus back to Bangkok. Food was fantastic here but didnt stay long enough to exploe... However, there was enough time for me to have a few beer Laos' which is becoming a daily thing now! lol!
Made it back to Bangkok for the last day of the Songkran Festival (water Festival) and it was crazy. The streets were aligned with Thai people and tourists just throwing buckets or bottles of water or using water guns to soaken everyone.. We got absolutley hammered, buckets of Thai Wiskey (leathal) Thai Redbull (also leathal) and coke... After we shared 4,5.... or was it 6 buckets i couldnt see and i lost Paul but it was still great. I made it back to the room and eventually he did too, blood shot eyes and scruffy... He payed so much money for his super soaker that had a shoulder strap and it was s***.lol! The water just dribbled out! At one point when the streets were starting to empty a bit Paul thought he was Rambo and took on a Thai Gang with his super soaker and they just went for him and soakened him again for at least ten mins!
Well, im all up to date, sorry if this one is a bit boaring but i have done so much if i told you every single detail i'd be sat here all day for a few days!! I will keep up to date from now on though.. Heading to the BK Mall today and then me and Paul are going to Patpong tonight where all the Ladybays and Prostitutes are.... Al have to keep my eye on Paul though, im beginning to think he likes these Ladyboys!!!
Full moon party in a few days and we get the night train to the Koh Pangang tomorrow so that will be wild.. We are now saving ourselves for that!
All take care..
Will NOT see you's soon as i dont wanna come home!
Mwah... Trina and Paul xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
