Our transition from Samui to Bangkok can best be described as island chic to city opulent.

The Mandarin Oriental is #1 hotel in Asia for a reason. Our hotel room has a doorbell and an on call butler.

Upon arrival our room was honeymoon ready. They had a bottle of wine on ice, fruit basket, and chocolates to greet us.

The room is classic and very plaza hotel circa 1950 decorated. Crown moldings, marble bathroom, silk bedding - it is so beautiful. Every little detail of the room looks like it is straight out if a magazine. And we have an amazing view of the canals below.

We have a big day of sightseeing ahead tomorrow. Rick needs to start stretching to prepare for so much time on his tootsies.

Tonight we dine canal side at Sal Rem Naam at the Mandarin. Off to dinner! More tomorrow!
