After an incredibly frustrating internet session in Silves (our last update) where a computer was almost thrown across the room, headed back west to Lagos to catch up with Andrew and Amelia who were cruising through Portugal.
We found a very authentic Portuguese restaurant and watched our sardines being grilled over a flaming bbq, just as Andrew had dreamed off all the way back in Oz. Those travel programmes can have a major effect on some people! Was good to get away from the main beat though or "Innit Alley", just too many pommy geezers. We finally had our first ice-cream strolling through the streets (which sounds romantic but it isnt due to the thousands of burnt chavs that roam the streets with you) on the way home.
The campsite in Lagos was a bit ropey, bare minimum and we´d probably have been as well to park at the side of a road, except that at least on a site there is less chance of having your van rocked around in the middle of the night - lesson learnt from San Seb.
It was great for Dan to catch up with old friends and for me to meet some new ones.
Off for some luxury living tomorrow.
