After brekky we headed into Lisbon, the last check-out time was 9pm for the site, so we left washing drying safe in the knowledge that Nad was in good hands. It took us over an hour to get into the city, the bus was diverted, then late and we had to fight with several grannies and gramps to get on.Once in the city we then took the metro to the centre, Lisbon´s metro is great, very clean and no delays! When we came out into the blistering sun, the first thing we saw was the #28 tram, the tram to take if you want to get around all the cute parts of the city, so on we jumped but we didn´t realize we were heading in the wrong direction so we had to jump off and back on one going in the opposite direction. All part of the fun of being an ignorant tourist I suppose. We hopped off at the castle, an appropriate time I felt, as there was a very friendly local eyeing up my bag…The views of the city from the Castelo de Sao Jorge are excellent but being cultural philistines we weren´t that excited about the castle itself and spent the rest of our time strolling through the side streets, visiting the Rossio square, looking at the amazing ´Elevadoras´ and scoffing local food. Off down the coast again to a diddy little place called Lagoa de Santo André.It´s a big lagoon but right beside the sea.The lagoon itself is not that great but the beach is amazing and the water is crystal clear, there are a few bits of plastic floating around in there but for the most part, what a beach! We stayed here for the night, the car part was relatively empty but we seem to attract other vans and soon there were several of us around.Still safety in numbers as they say…
