Well my first Burns Supper on Saturday night was a blast; i think the most fun i've had so far this year. Having had past experience of Scottish dancing i thought i was more than enough prepared to take to the dance floor...how mistaken i was. The first dance was that quick, with twists of eight, multiple & simultaneous manoeuvre's with my arms in one direction and my legs in other and then the changing partners that I don't think you could say i was dancing but merely trying to keep up On my second time round I got slightly better with the "Dashing White Sergeant", however my laughing & giggling at myself and the others getting it so terribly wrong did somewhat hinder my concentration! "Strip the Willow" was even funnier and my favourite of the evening, very fast but pretty easy (a definite plus)!! The speeches were pretty good overall, I think I could have given a better reply to The Lassies' but there we are - maybe on a future occasion, as the Burns Supper is now religiously on my calendar with Scottish dancing…lessons might be a good idea before my next time, lol Following such an eventful evening, my Sunday was pretty chilled at Serra, followed my an early night. The clocks have gone back an hour here supposedly, so Sao Paulo is now 3 hours behind UK time; I completely forgot Sunday morning, I’m turning into a Brazilian, lol. I say supposedly the clocks have gone back as it is sometimes a slow process so I’m told (which would seem reasonable to the way of life here).
My photo’s of the Burns Supper are mainly of me laughing myself into hysterics…I did manage today to take some calmer snaps of Perdize on my walk today, very nice area – mixture of apartment blocks and little random houses here and there, Sao Paulo is certainly a mix of everything!
