Well our train journey here wasn't anywhere near as stressfull as the one to xi'an. It was 20 hours though :( that was to a place called nanching (or summat like that) then we had to get a 4 hour bus to shanghai. That wasnt much fun. We got our lunch in nanching and noone in the place could speak any english and they had no english menu. So skiv decided to get joes point it book out (cheers briz and laura) which caused apparently enless hilarity to all the chinese in the restauraunt who laughed and pointed at pics of caravans for about 25 mins. We ended up with fried rice. Our hostel is in a lovely area known to many as the red light district. On our 5 minute walk to get some tea, we saw a drug dealer and 7 or 8 'hairdressers'. We are strongly considering changing hostels tomorrow. Must dash, Joe xxx
