Tom here. We did change hostels, and my god are we glad of it!!! Our new one is just off The Peoples Square right where all the posh hotels are and the sky scraperes. Well our train journey here wasn't anywhere near as stressfull as the one to xi'an. It was 20 hours though :( that was to a place called nanching (or summat like that) then we had to get a 4 hour bus to shanghai. That wasnt much fun. We got our lunch in nanching and noone in the place could speak any english and they had no english menu.
