Traveling Mandy
This is a guest blog from.....kirsty
Hola. For maybe the first time in Argentina we have figured out where the shift key is to get capital letters! Not sure about apostrphes, but we'll try.... (hey it worked!)
Today is our last day in Buenos Aires and we are taking it nice and easy. We spent the morning strolling down Libertad St, a street lined (literally) with jewellery shops - every shop sells jewellery, ther is nothing else for blockas and blocks! A fantastic morning for Mandy and I (don't ask how much we spent in total) but probably not so much fun for Ash... I bought a huge aquamarine ring and matching earrings for approx $150 (thanks Mum and Gran!). Ash calls it my princess ring because the stone is so huge. Mandy bought a beauitful chunky silver bracelet to add to her fast growing jewellery collection!
Wé just had another fantastic meal - 2 courses and wine for very few dollars. Ater experiencingthe food in Central America I was a little worried about coming here. I'm sure after walking theInca Trail for 4 days we'll still come home fatter than we left simply because of the food in Argentina.
And it's not just the food, the people are so freindly - apologising for their lack of English rather than our lack of Spanish! Being a true girl, the shopping is pretty fantastic too!
We're off to Lima (Peru) at 8 tonight arriving at 11pm local time, 1am Argentina time and who knows when Aussie time. We have a full day in Lima before leaving for Cusco and the Inca Trail. What a great day to start your 30th birthday Mandy - with a 6am flight.... now who was responsible for booking that?!
We're only one week into our three week holiday and we've already decided we don't want to go back to work.... we'll let you know where you can come and visit us :)
