Hola
16 hours in ecomony is too long. 24 hrs without sleep is too long. Enough said.
Beunos Aires is fantasic. Its 1am and we have just been at a jazz bar and Im drunk and the keyboard here is different so i keep tying wrong. This will be quick.
We got here Ok. Got caught up in a protest on the way into the city and sat in a hot car (its 28 degrees) watching our driver get frustrated. There is no order here and drivers just make up their own lanes, and drive through walk signs so everytime you walk across the road your life is in danger.
The buildings range from beautiful to derelict (ie was condemed 5 years ago, started to be demolished and then a family of 16 moved in and hung their washing on the roof).
We have some fantastic photos but argerntine IT has yet to get with the concept of a USB, so need to do more hunting to find a place that can upload photos.
Some of the best photos are of the public works (or lack of them). There are huge crators in the footpaths which they throw a crate over and pretend dont exist. There seems to be no care given to things and everything (even the new stuff) is derelict. Food is cheap and so are clothes, shoes and bags. We had a meal for three for $13. We had breakfast for three for $3. We had an expensive 3 course meal (with free champange) with wine for $35 each. All good.
We went to the presidents palace today - its pink. Hummmmm.
We have a trip mascot - sockey. Sockey which was the airplane sock which stuck itself to Ashtons shoe so we have decided to keep sockey with us. Expect lots of photos of sockey.
We are hoping to go to Uruguay for the day. Also hoping to learn the tango.
So far we have got by with Si, No, Gracias, Bien, banios and i dont understand shrugs. Not bad really.
More soon (hopefully with photos)
