Great sleep and own catered b/fast. TB found info on free shuttle and we were off.
A quick walk around the corner to Robson St and we caught the bus to Capilano Suspension Bridge.
Was a grey morning and threatening to rain but we are all dressed for it.
Made our entry into Capilano and started the fun. The surroundings are beautiful with the trees and river below.
The bridge itself is brilliant - nice and wide with only a little rocking movement. TB was not sure about it and nervously made her way over. Certainly popular and great photo moments.
On the other side is a set of pathways and bridges strung between the trees and we saw it all. Lovely little water falls and nature, the cold air is clean and tastes great. The walk is welcomed - need to work off some of the SFO Maccas.
We were joined by a couple of school groups, always interesting.
To finish we took on the cliff walk with steel walkways suspended off the side of the hill out into the valley. It was well done and made for some good views of the river etc. TB seemed to race thru it whilst EB and I took time for photos etc.
Hot chocolates and cider to warm up before our departure. Back into the courtesy bus and we hatched a plan to get off early and walk to the Aquarium.
That was all well and good until it started raining!! Oh well, up go the $4- umbrellas and we are walking. It was cold and pretty damp by the time we arrived.
We used the quick ticket line and realized this is a place to be if the weather is crap - kids and families everywhere.
Drying off looking at some of the first exhibits, we jumped into the queue for Happy Feet 4D. A quick people watching and we were in the cinema.
The 4D effects were good fun with water sprays, air streams from whale blow holes and snowflakes from the roof.
We left the happy penguins and started to explore.
Lots to see indoors whilst raining. I had memories of our previous visit here many years ago. We made our way outside to see the seals, dolphins and belugas. Rain still with us but we saw it all.
Time to get out of here, where's a taxi. Quickly called one and jumped in on arrival. I think it turns out we stole the cab from another woman waiting but hey - survival of the fittest and all that!?
Back to hotel and dried off. Been on the go all day and it was good to catch a cuppa in our downtown digs.
Chicken for dinner and some wine from around the corner bottle shop. Rested whilst making this blog update etc.
Great day
