Hear that? No?- Me either. No cars, no sirens. Just wind and a cow next door. The Green Gables is my home for the next 9 weeks and this is my front yard ( which I do not have to tend, by the way). It's beautiful, 65F and sunshine. I settled in and biked into town to grocery shop. Don't look for a Cosco or Wegmans here with a stadium sized parking lot. Without a focused search, I could have missed it. On the way back, I took a detour through the carnival thats in town for the weekend. They are the same all over the world. Rides, games ,street food and excited children. I will take a picture and add it to the album. I am tired now and not really sure what time it is. It's too nice to waste the sunshine. I am headed out to enjoy for a bit. Tonite I will find out what to do this weekend.
Mom & Lisa- I found a meeting place in Schipol/Amsterdam - Lets meet at the entrance to Track(Spoor) 1 and 2 in the train station. I will send step by step instructions.
Oh and one more thing. It is a small world. I meet Mariellen in the airport. Comforting to talk to a familar person in a familiar language. Meeting new friends is great too. I was introduced to a famous Salsa musician from Puerto Rico - Andy Montozya ( I have to check the spelling) and Louisa , an artist form Halifax that has been around the Horn and to Chile and Argentina. She studies Reiki now. Travel changes me. It strips away the mechanations of daily life and frees me to make new connections. Why is it that I can't be like this always? It seems to be a much fuller way to live and it is just a change in approach.
