Awoke early to the sounds of birds and we all lay about looking out our treehouse window view towards the islands. A crisp cold shower ( no hot water here) in the outdoor bathroom and we headed down to breaky. Everyone well today, the first time for a few days.
Wayne 'face timed' Jill and we found out Dad (Poppy) had been in hospital all night. He had got some food caught in his oesophagus that wouldn't move( too much talking while eating on Xmas day) and had to have it surgically removed. Nothing boring about a Bates Xmas! Poppy all good and we were able to Skype so I could talk to him and know he was ok. Mum and dad join us on the 30th December so am overjoyed it was all good.
Walked up and over mountain into Kep stopping at the Led Zepplin cafe for a drink. The walk to crab market took about an hour and half. Crab market was buzzing with locals hauling their fresh caught crab in and selling it.
Had lunch at Kimly Restaurant right over the water. Had crab with green Kampot peppercorns and prawns with local spices. Yummy. Lewis and Liam taking care of their tummies but Kobe, Wayne and I had a feast. Got a tuk tuk back to Jasmine Valley which was quite an event due to the narrow bumpy track up. Chilled for rest of arvo, culminating in card games of 21, pairs and cheat. Just ask Kobe how good he was at cheat - not! Also beat the boys at pool although Lew maintains I followed in off the black and lost but I'm pretty sure he flicked the white in while I wasn't looking. A return match will settle it!
Huge dinner of wood fired pizzas. Ordered way too much but the worker boys were happy to finish them off for us. Bed early- but up during the night with lots of scratching across the floor- turned out it was a bush rat pushing our rubbish bin around trying to get out lollie papers the boys had put in. Lots of jumping up and flicking my torch on. The joys of an open treehouse in the jungle!
