The Drive from Kampala to Lake Bunuyoni was absolutely stunning! We stopped at the equator and picked up some breakfast - tea and muffins, as well as took a few photos. For lunch we stopped at a local town and popped into a bakery to buy some pizza. During these five minutes our car got clamped by what seems to have been the only clamp in town. When we stepped out of the car the local;s must have thought: "Muzungus (local name for white people) lets get some money rom them" So Sas, our tour leader had to hop on a boda boda, a motorcycle taxi, and try and find a place where to pay the 6 pound fine.
When we arrived at the lake we checked into our tented camp on stilts overlooking the lake. The view was magnificent! The sun was shinig and we thought we would go for a swim in the lake, but as soon as we got there the thunder started and we had to run back in soaking wet from the rain.
The next day e hireddug out canoe boat, and went on the lake. This was one of the most terrifying experiences in my entire life (soon to be topped by a horrifying experience in the Serengeti). The boat kept tipping from one side to another, it's a miracle we didn't fall in!
