Jinja campsite, source of the Nile
We arrived at Entebbe airport after a suprisingly easy flight of less than eight hours and found our Kiwi guide Sas. She drove us through the mad capital city of Uganda, Kampala to the backpackers haven of Jinja. We relaxed for the rest of the day and sampled the local beer and Chipattis.
On our first full day we went white water rafting. This was absolutely amazing and I believe we drank half the Nile in the process! Although it was a very cloudy and stormy day the water was very warm, so it didn't matter when our raft inevitably flipped over in the rapids. In the evening we went to a local bar (read one room shack on the side of the road) with some friends we made rafting, and tasted the local vodika, stored in small sealed plastic bags.
Day three was softpower day where we participated in helping to paint class rooms at a local school. Tove managed to last the whole day without getting a single splash on her clothes!
