The Danish lads were supposed to cook for us on some course but when we met them they had already eaten! So we offed them and went for scrambled egg and pepsi!
Chilled on beach and in crazy waves again. Can't emphasise how powerful they are. Try bodyboarding and then just letting yourself go and the force of the water smashes you somersaulting you closer to shore. Can get quite scary sometimes if it holds you under for a while!
I trekked up the hill to the Lighthouse that overlooks the surrounding beaches. Good views of the beaches, boats out to sea, jungle-like inland, temples and fishing town of Vizhinjam.
Sneakily got away without paying for my camera and then realised after I'd walked down the hill that I had forgotten to retain my change! After three trips up the hill because of a lack of change at the reception, I eventually got all my rupees back! Tight sod!
Me and Chris fancied another round of football so we returned to the beach with the locals who were even more terrible than yesterday! My team with one extra player somehow lost. Honest to god, I don't think I've played with bigger tards in my life! A country with 1.25 billion people has no decent football team and this might explain why! There was literally one lad with an ounce of talent but the rest were awful. One poor guy. nothing wrong with him, but he had dozens of the easiest gifts and would somehow miss the ball, mis-hit or send it to the corner!
He had no control, no passing ability (like the rest as they seem to all search for their own glory), no technique, no skill and absolutely no footballing brain. I was losing the plot screamiung at all of them to do different jobs but they had no idea. It was like talking to a brick wall, but that's not their fault, I should be able to speak Hindi I suppose! They would just give me the ball, expect the white boy to do the magic which occassionally I could, but they'd all leg it up to to 5-a-side goals and wait for someone to lob a ball up there and take it from there. I tried explaining how that wasn't going to work so well in sand! That was another thing, playing in sand however is good practise as it's harder to deal with the bounce and slow surface.
Anyways, enough football ranting. A 7Up and a dip in the sea was beautiful to cool down.
Chicken sizzler and veg for tea before us going for a drink with a London lass and me being an old man drinking whiskey. At 1.30am, I'd forgotten that the clocks had changed at home and missed most of the first half of Spurs' second leg defeat to Real Madrid. Gomes is a clown. I had a bad foot from football. Went to bed unhappy!
