nature at its best! we have just been on a 3 day trip into the rainforest which took us up from cairns to cape tribulation. it was just truly beautiful! known as the only place in the world where 2 world heritage sites meet - the 'rainforest' and the 'reef'.

on our first day we drove up to and took a short walk through the daintree national park, here hayley took a paddle in the mossman gorge. the trip then took us on a river boat cruise down the daintree river. whilst on the river we saw wild crocs, snakes and loads of birds. after the cruise we continued our drive further into the forest to check into our forest/beach house - check out the pics!

then on our second day, mom stott and pops slater you will be proud, feeling energetic we followed a 12km trek over the beaches and through the forest. hayley taking the time out to take a dip in a creek swimming hole.

after all that walking we found we needed to chill (as you do) so spent the third day at the resort poll and beach.

anyway we've now travelled down to port douglas (home of the rich) and checked into a one bedroom villa with a pool, gym and tennis courts - not bad for backpackers eh! and all for 28 quid a night! might stroll into town tomorrow for a browse around the shops and then we've booked a posh boat trip for saturday out to the great barrier reef - can't wait!
