Well, it is a week since it happened, but geez the London branch of Live Earth was good... and yes we were definitely there!
It was quite fortunate that we were actually able to go at all. I (Tom) had always wanted to go (since hearing about it months ago) and Eli agreed it would be cool, however, we heard that the concert had sold out ages ago... we were evidently wrong. We were out to dinner with my Cousin and his wife (Ben and Beth) and it came up in conversation that they had tickets, we expressed out want of going, and Ben said he thought there were a few more tickets and would look into it. One thing lead to the next and as we sat at Wimbledon the next day (Eli is going to write a blog on that!) we got a message saying he had tickets for us! (So we are obviously extremely thankful to Ben who got those for us! IT was absolutely fantastic!).
We got into Wembley park at about 1:45pm and headed straight for the stage (there was a mass of people already). We moved ourselves closer and closer to the stage as the day moved on. Tom didn't leave the pitch once, ie: he stood there for about 9 hours, in the bloomin hot sun, with all the sweaty bodies...loving every minute of it. Whereas I (Eli) left twice, once to get water for us both and another time to pee, and get more water! It was actually soo hard to find Tom again, alot of peering over heads, hopping that I might see of that blonde hair bobbing away soon. However dyuring one of my expeditions, I did manage to miss a 40 year old woman who was particularly skilled in Latin Dancing groovin her moves all over tom! Can't leave that boy alone!
But most importantly, the music! Actually so good, the foo fighters were great, Black eyed Pea's very fun, and my god do they run around whilst singing, it's a full on performance- pretty great! Chilli peppers, well what can i say- we were quite star struck, and they were of course fantastic! Then there was Snow Patrol, Kasabian, Razorlight, Keane, p**** Cat Dolls (they were hot says Tom), Metallica and the Beastie Boys just to name a few more! Then, lastly Madonna was something special, she did a good little speechy thing at the beggining (which i liked ofcourse, you know me!) But then her actual songs were just amazing to watch because she is such a performer, and it was just choreographed well- you know, the usual madonna, kylie minogue fashion! So it was a pretty good way to end a brilliant concert.
Tom's Favourite 5: Foo Fighters, Black Eyed Peas, Madonna, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Kasabian (Metalica and p**** Cat Dolls were pretty good to - for difference reasons of course)
Eli's Favourite 5: Foo Fighters, Chili Peppers, Madonna, Black Eyed Peas, David Grey/Damien Rice
Tom was very happy to pick up an imitation Live Earth T-shirt for £5 outside, and although it was many more queues later we arrived happily at home to crash straight into bed!
And that's where we are heading now!
Sweet dreams, or good morning, or good arvo for that matter, Love tom and eli
