Travel, Coast and Nets.
Hello :)
I have just settled down for the night in my new home! I have deliberately used the word home as I am actually sleeping in a building! It is really hot, I'm on a very comfy mattress with my mosquito net hanging above me and I'm hoping I don't get bitten to death in the night!
Today we transferred from Manyara to Tanga. We set off at 7:30am and arrived at around 5:00pm. We had a good journey but it was a little hairy at times due to the driver and his constant need to overtake on blind bends and hills! However, we eventually made it to our new camp by the Indian Ocean and the sun was shinning! On the journey I enjoyed listening to my music especially Bat out of hell! :)
We are staying in what I can only describe as accommodation similar to a very very basic Centre Parks or Ribby Hall lodge. We are in these little bungalow type buildings that only have mosquito nets and mattresses in. But.... there is a kitchen with a tap, en-suite facilities in the bedrooms and 24/7 electric :)
In and around camp there are also a few little extras free of charge! There is an old tailor who is going to make me some Tanzanian trousers, a few poisonous black and red striped frogs and a load of Mosquitos! One lad already here is literally covered in bites so we are all on alert for covering ourselves up and applying insect repellant!
We have 2 more days here doing project work before we transfer to CBA Camp in the grounds of a local hotel. There we will be doing our Scuba Diving and I should be able to upload my blog :)
Anyway... Now it's time for bed! See you later x
