The Trek Day 05 - 1st Oct
Monument Valley is a Native American reservation. There are big sandstone rocks that the elements have carved into shapes which Native Americans have named depending on what they look like.
We got a guided tour from a real Navaho Indian. He and his uncle were very informative and they played us some traditional Navaho music.
That night we went to a cowboy camp to sleep in mud huts called Hogans. We met other trek groups there too. One of the other trek leaders had a guitar and we all sat round the camp fire and had a wee sing-song. After the cowboys went to bed we sat up and played drinking games.
Day 06
In the morning we went horse hiding with cowboys. It was a very scenic path that lead from the camp round the Mexican Hat, a huge rock that looks like an upside down sombrero an d back to camp.
Then on to the Grand Canyon...
