Andy and Tim Tour the World
Third Stop Boston
The trip from Washington was horrible. The train was very busy and very noisy we didn't manage to get much sleep at all.
We got into Boston on the 14th September about 9am. We had breakfast and waited for our rooms to be ready at 12 noon. We went straight to sleep as soon as we got into our rooms. We woke up about 6pm and decided to go out. We had been told that Lansdowne St. was good, so we went their, it was just round the corner from the hostel.
Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox, is on one side of the street and pubs and clubs are along the other. We ended up stumbling across a gig by Citizen Cope, a reggae/indi band. That finished about 11pm and we went along to Jimi's bar that was open late which was packed and had really good music.
On the 15th we got to see Boston. One of Andy's relations that lives in Boston, Margaret, took us out for dinner to a beautiful restaurant than drove us around in her car, giving us our own private tour of Boston. We managed to see; Harvard, Trinity Church, Beacon Hill, Boston Common, the old and new City Hall. John Hancock Tower, the Holocaust memorial and the Public Library.
That night we went out again and came back to find there was a party in the hostel held by the people that work there - everyone was really cool.
On the 16th we got up early to get the 12 noon train to Chicago. Its 6hrs to Albany then change for 16hrs to Chicago...
