Today we drive to Kelowna hoping to find things to do. First stop was the lavender gardens which Kim really wanted to see. Was very interesting reading up on the types and durability of some herbs (some types can make it through a mild winter and summer drought and still survive!). After that it was off to our fav burger joint Red Robin - best burgers around! Headed to the mall to walk off those calories and do some shopping (and to get out of the +36 heat). Afterwards we drive to Scandia amusement park where we rode outdoor go karts. Olivia had never driven these fast ones before so she opted to drive with me in a double seater despite encouraging her to go on her own. Was intense on the track, and i managed to pass Emily on a corner which caused her to spin out (she still claims that I cut her off - women drivers!). when we were done the owner of the facility came out and chatted with Olivia, took her over and got her a helmet, and sat her in a go kart. Then he started it up and stood on the side of the kart while she did a lap. He then said we should go with her so the rest of us got to go for another round of racing just the four of us! Olivia loved it! It was so nice of the owner to do that for us.
Continued back home to Vernon for a riveting game of Risk - our new family favorite.
