A nice early start to the day again so that we could do the 20km walk at the Tongariro National Park. Not something I was particularly looking forward to as Id never done this length of walk before let alone hike and climb a volcano. We drove to the hotel we were staying at for the night just to check in and thats where our pick up was from. Today we started kinda early to make our way to Whakahoro to blue duck Lodge with a few stops on the way :) First stop was at a natural hot river for a swim. It was pretty hot. I didn't go for a swim as we didn't have long but I dipped my feet in. Was a bit smelly from the sulphur but was nice n hot. We then stopped at huka falls. We woke up to pouring rain again :( weren't having much luck with the weather. I had got myself ready to do a skydive today but it wasn't looking good in this weather!! As we drove toasted rotorua the weather picked up and it got sunnier n sunnier :). Yayyyy. Rotorua is set in a landscape of erupting geothermal activity.
