The story continues....
Our hotel has lizards ants and rats.
The first night in Bangkok was a wee eye opener. On the usual hunt the hotel room for the best free stuff before the fiancé does Ross monosyllabically announces the presence of our fridge dwelling ants. If im honest this makes me feel like a fully fledged explorer now. Yeah I must be on a really exotic holiday if I have fridge ants. You don't get fridge ants at the village hotel in Maidstone let me tell you that for nothing.
So we showered and intrepidly went in search of sustenance. There are tons of food carts selling various meets on sticks which makes the other half insanely happy. Very cheap too with each thing priced at about 2 bht. The streets are filled with feral dogs each filled with feral fleas.
It's a mis-mash area with grand gated properties punctuated with people sleeping in boxes. You physically can't take in the scenery, you have to give all the attention to the road ahead of you. If you don't you run the risk of breaking your ankle on the ramshackle road or an exhausted dog.
We find a local Market. Find pet shop stall. He had a cage full of hamsters, one of hedgehogs and just to their left a pug a pom and two sleeping chihuahuas.
We find a small restaurant near the hotel and I order green curry and a beer. As we ate we played spot the rat which again puts me in mind of marco polo.
The jet lag means we wake up at 2am.
Flights to Phuket in am which is the start of holiday proper.
