The guide books and websites that Ross and I were reading before we came here were a nice jumping off point. But as suspected it's the price of things that they mislead you on. Things are cheap out here but you can't live ridiculously cheap like before.
To give you an idea of what I mean;
A thai beer £1.50 an UK beer £3.50
An iced coffee in Thailand £1.90 and in UK about £3.75 a wee/poo (or whatever else one does in the lavatory) in Thailand is 10p where the pentagon shopping centre in Chatham requires 30p.
So back to our time in Phuket town. It's beautiful. We saw a few shrines while there. The shrine to the god of Devine Light had ironically been damaged in a large fire so was under heavy restoration.
One wat was holding some sort of strange thai chi class. It was was like a fringe theatre crossed with a fat boy slim praise you music video. Each of the five guys there seem to have their own unique style and acted independently from one another. The little guy at the front was doing a lot of growling.
Humidity got the better of us and we headed back to the blue bus to head back to the hotel.
