We arrived in Paris yesterday afternoon and waited for our transfer for ages at the train station but they did not arrive. mum and Dad were cranky and in the end we caught a taxi to the hotel. We are staying in the Opera area which is pretty close to everything. We are in an apartment and the only bad thing is that Darcy and I have to share the King size bed. Mum and Dad are on the fold out!
First up after breakfast, we caught the bus to St Michel near Notre Dame and went on a walking tour. Our guide, Niall, was from Ireland and was very good. He told us all about Paris, the history, funny stories and whilst it was a long tour it was great fun and I learnt a lot.
The tour finished near the Louvre and afterwards we had lunch in the park and then we crossed the river and went to the Musee d'Orsay and saw some amazing platings and sculptures. I really liked the Monet, Darcy and Mum liked the Van Gogh. There was a Picasso but it was a normal painting before he started the wired abstract cubism stuff. The photo is of me standing next to Van Gogh's Starry Night.
We were at the Museum until it closed. We watched a dude on skates doing some busking and then we started the long walk home. Paris is easy to get around and we have been doing lots of walking!
We had dinner at a Italian place and I had a big salad. Darcy had a pizza which he did not like, turns out he likes ham but not Parma ham!
