There And Back Again and the places in-between.
We finally arrived at Waipoua Forest which preserves some of the best examples of kauri forest remaining in New Zealand. It is has two of the largest living kauri trees, Tane Mahuta with a girth of 13.8m and Te Matua Ngahere which has a girth of 16.41m. They are the largest in New Zealand.
we visited both of these trees and like proper tourist and had our pictures taken... They were huge. It was a shame that the trees were fenced off because you can not tread on their delegate roots.
We then head to Omapere.
