Salamat Datang!
Well we have arrived in Ubud Bali safe and sound after a hectic trip trying to load 3 of us and 2 trolley loads of luggage AND a laptop and computer! To a very quiet welcome at Denpasar airport ... Yep the Hotel forgot our Airport Pickup .... so the adventure began... Welcome to Bali Yeats Girls! Yep, Erica doesn't do anything in halves now does she?
Happy Easter All!
So we arrived for Easter Weekend, but hence the amount of luggage Brook and I couldnt possibly carry Easter Eggs on the plane, so Easter Bunny for Sienna went "under the radar" this morning .... the Yeats Girls will celebrate Easter next week maybe ...when the Easter Bunny hunts down the left over Easter Eggs from an Expat store around Bali.
We have had a great time thus far, Brookie and Sienna love the new experiences and the people are just amazing! Siennas loving the Bali Dogs and Motorbikes! The wind up windows in the Taxis's are another excitement for Sienna, up down, up down. Keeps her entertained for HOURS on long drives. The Taxis themselves are very interesting to my little 4 year old ... "mummy why do so many different people drive us around in their cars, what are they called again?" Try explaining the concept of a Cab to a 4 year old :)
Today was very interesting, Erica learning to ride a bike! Much to the girls amusement and of course all the Mas Villagers, I was certianly the topic of conversation over the "locals" dinner tables last night, the silly "Orang Asing" (aka: foreigner) who can't ride a bike? I had village children and neighbours shouting from their houses .... all trying to teach me a thing or two about driving a bike in Bali. Unfortunately, Brooklyn captured it all on Video and is now threatening to play MY Biking video at HER 21st! Ummmmm
Well all, I hope to write something each day on our new life in Bali, our experiences and learnings, keeping you all in the loop via this weblink, it's connected to Facebook too, so those of you on Facebook will get automatic links when a new Diary entry or photos are posted. This medium is best as a few people are not on Facebook yet.
We made some wonderful new friends today in our neighbouring Villa, expat kids from UK who have lived here 4 years and very intergrated into their Bali life, so social and very funky creative business people - the kids are so advanced and worldly it's amazing speaking to a 7 year old who has so much to share with the new Orang Asing in town, about Bali.
I have a great feeling about our latest move. The Universe is pointing us in the right direction ...... Watch this space!
It's bedtime, so we are off to catch a few Fireflies that swarm the Rice Paddies at night, they are so beautiful! The girls think they are fairies! They really are a gorgeous sight.
Siennas Quote for the Day (while viewing a "McDonalds" shaped building covered in thatched roofing): "Oh look, the Maccie Donalds roof has lots of hair"
See you tomorrow x
