Here we are on Magnetic Island then. All of our original travel plans are going a bit awry as Cyclone Larry has destroyed a couple of the hostels we wanted to stay in and blocked some of the roads we intended to use to get to them. But never mind. Magnetic is lovely. There's not much to do but the hostel we're staying in is fabulous. Lots of little huts set out into little palm tree-lined rows - all over-looking the beach. There's a great bar that's always got stuff going on - I'm staying tee-total for a while and trying to reduce the amount of crap food that I'm eating for a while though so it's not much use to me! The other night we took part in the pub quiz and got chatting to a really sweet couple, Katie and Gerrard. Adam is still with us and Jo and Bex are going to catch us up in the next day or so. The 5 of us got well into the quiz (Emma and her competetive streal also struck again!) and after two rounds of questions we were doing quite well. In the last round one team member had to sit at the front and had to run back to their team-mates for objects. For example "a person with a tattoo" (me), "a person with a piercing" (me), "two items of guys underwear" (Adam and Gerrard), "three pairs of trousers" (Adam, Gerrard and then Helen and Katie jumped me and pulled my jeans off!) Any way - we won! We got two free jugs of beer (no more tee-totalling - not when it's free!) and we got a 4WD for the whole of the next day. We got to see the whole island (took about 10 minutes to drive from one side to the other) and had a perfectly pleasant day.
