Day one and two in Peru.
UNO score Lisa 0 Martyn 0

As we took off into the dark sky with the roads in to London gleaming white from the headlights I felt a little sorry for those heading to work. We landed in Madrid, no problems with flights. I took a malaria tablet, then promptly threw up into my lovely hat (see pictures for it's loveliness). Anyway the flight from Madrid to Lima was fine, watched 'the social network', pretty good film, and read most of the book 'to kill a mocking bird', which is excellent. Lisa slept and read some chick lit rubbish.
Initial thoughts of Lima:
Crazy busy on the roads.
Smoggy
Fairly friendly.
Ok, so it is a massive cliche to say that Lima is smoggy and that the roads are busy, but it is true. See gallery for pictures of smog. Anyway after making it safely to our hostel, which is lovely, we had been travelling for 24hours and we needed something quick and easy that is my only excuse for the papa John pizza we ate. Totally bloody Brits abroad!!!
Day two we woke up, ate breakfast and set off into the smog. It was cold, grey and dull, just like Manchester. We walked, had a coffee, went to the beach and most importantly didn't put on any suncream, typical bloody Brits abroad. After lunchtime beers it brightened up and we went for another walk, sin suncream. Needless to say we are both lobster red, and smell of aloe vera. Got back ate cold left over pizza (2nd was only 25p) and drank delicious beer.
Things I have learnt days one and two
Eat with malaria tablets
Use sun screen, even when it is smoggy
No where is as cheap as people say it is
Everywhere has everything, see Lisa in shopping centre picture
It is easier to order a pizza at papa johns in Lima than it is in morden, they speak better English
Walking for five hours in havaianas hurts and gives you blisters
Line of The day; while frying under the hot sun, 'do you think at they sing i'm dreaming of a white Christmas over here?'
