All hands on deck to attack Universal Studios, Islands Of Adventure (Which includes Harry Potter). Yvonne and I still sick, but passable. Universal closes at 6 anyway.
Favourite Thrill Ride - The Hulk Rollercoaster.
2nd favourite - Spiderman 3d. It's a bit like a rollercoaster indoors, but it twists and turns you so it can merge giant screens with physical props.
Best ride of the day - Harry Potter. We had to queue for an hour, which is our longest line yet (That we've all waited in). Queueing was half the fun, because the castle that the queue weaves through has been convincingly built. It constantly amazes me how much money and effort goes into the queue management area - and this was one of the best. Especially loved the hall of talking paintings, which were giant plasma's that had brushstrokes over the top so they really did look like paintings.
The ride itself sees you in a row of four seats that are attached to a robotic arm (Like in car manufacture) this tning flies you around the castle, then thrusts you into a giant Imax like dome to immerse you in the action. We were part of a Quidditch game so there was lots of jerking, bumping, high speed flying. Totally immersive, and I'm sure worth all the squillions they spent. Definitely the best ride on the site, and we were lucky the weather was average, because quese on other days were 3 to 4 hours! Given that many kids want a custom wand from the wand shop, and the queue for that is often 3 or 4 hours, it could mean that an $80 ticket may get you one wand, one ride and 30 minutes for lunch! The only good news? Lunch in Universal is reasonably priced and good quality. Disney just seems to be, well, overpriced.
Grabbed Pizza/pasta again, then some more Outlet Shopping (Victorias Secret was the focus) then home again, late, to bed......
