Yvonne = Stayed home asleep in bed. Coughing and spluttering.
Paul = Almost full recovery from Marathon, picked up Yvonnes cold (Can't complain about the perfect timing!)
The girls = I took them to Universal Studios for the day. Quite small compared to all the other parks, and also to California Universal. A lot of reconstruction, too. Still a good day.
Favourites - The Mummy Roller Coaster - a dark and scary rollercoaster. Excellent stuff. Danielle's favourite was the Hollywood Rockin Rollercoaster, which you got to choose your own music if you were quick enough (Too slow Danielle!). This was the first vertical start - it takes you out of the station, then straight up - and only over the peak do you start. Fun!
They had some good interactive experiences - Twister was a virtual tornado and was quite good, but favourite of those attractions was Disaster. You basically build a short disaster flick with green screen and audience participation - but it wasn't the ride that made it so good - it was the host. She was hilarious! Obviously a wannabe comedic actor - but perfect timing and great little sidestories. We realize it's mostly scripted, but she was something else (We actually re did this the next day with Yvonne, and got a different host - nowhere near as good, even though 75% script was the same)
We headed to the shops on the way home after pigging out on delicious all you can eat pizza/pasta/deserts. Sarah and D picked up suitcases to store all their new shoes! Chucked another load of washing on and had to wait until 12:30 for it to finish! Oh, and sickness setting in for both Yvonne and I. Kids still healthy (But exhausted). Still usually getting home around 10, with only one exception, then up at 7 to start again.
