After a very successful first 100 miles down, Dave and the crew took a much deserved rest day. Everyone is lodging up at the beautiful Lake Tekapo, taking in the views at our motels on the lake. Gill and Eric unknowingly checked themselves in to the Bates motel last night but luckily made a swift change after surviving one dodgy night.
Nick felt adventurous and decided to bike up Mt. St John while Lynn and Mike leisurely strolled up the big hill. Nick and Dave later had some fun with wool to pass the time (see photo). Another member of the team also turned 21 (again) so celebrations were in order for Big Al Brogan.
The crew anxiously awaited a big fish fry from eric's angling expedition today but alas the big ones all got away. So, over steaks and drinks the crew hatched a plan to produce a (naughty) calendar of TMP crew members, we will keep you posted on that one! Thoughts including cycling in the buff poses and strategically placed maps, any takers?
Everything is in order for the start of the second leg tomorrow- 50 miles along the canal systems in Tekapo. Hoping for some more nice weather to start things off. So with a few minor aches and pains but motivation very high its an early start tomorrow for Dave and team TMP!
And…… A big happy 50th birthday to Dave and Lynn's buddy Roger!
