second time lucky - the internet crashed as i was trying to write this the first time.
So it has been a while since my last blog, however I have been doing things, lots of things to be honest, I will try keep this as short and to the point as possible.
School and teaching has been pretty much the same, I had reports to fill out for all my kids and teenage classes, this seemed to take me a heck of a long time . . . lucky I only have to do that once a semester. Hopefully the student's parents wont want parents evening with me. Also trying to remember all the children's names is one thing, but to try and put a face to the name whilst writting a report was rather difficult. For a few of them I ended up just giving the class average to them, 'cause I couldn't remember who they were :S what a great teacher I am lol.
So for the social life - I went to Campello to sit on the beach, and eat paella by the sea was a lot of fun, apart from I was suffering from a hangover that day (nothing new there then for a saturday).
The following week I went to a book presentation . . . now try imagine a presentation, sounds boring right. Now try imagine a presentation that is on a subject that you don't know anything about, and then add in the fact that it was in a forgien language that you aren't even studing (Valencian), got the picture? now add in free wine and food - explains the messy evening!!
One Sunday, cant remember which one . . . involved a hangover, we went to another mountain to see a big metal cross and to have views of Alcoy, views were spectacular and got some great photos. We cheated tho and didn't walk all the way up, we took the car up some of the way, and then walked the last little bit (sssshh don't tell anyone tho)
Last weekend Jenny, India and I went to Javi's flat in Valencia - we got to see the sights - the towers where the old wall used to be, and were the river used to flow before they moved it. Also some funky looking buildings, that housed the science musuem, and an aquireum, etc etc - was pretty. oh and the big market and the ring where they hold bull fights.
Alcoy is really small, and whenever out with Javi he knows pretty much everyone. Going for a walk with him is worse than going to Tesco with my mum, that's how bad it is. Anyway, he was adament that when in Valencia he wouldn't bump into anyone that he knew. Likely story!!! Randomly walking down the street someone calls out to him from a nearby restuarant - yeah he knows no1 :P Also near the school that he works in we happened to see one of his students. After seeing the sights, a well deserved siesta before heading for dinner and a good night out. Went out with one of Javi's friends too. Got in at about 5ish? I think, after a few drinks and a shot on a wet kids slide :)
Sunday, with surprisingly not a terrible hangover, we hit the beach after a quick stop at the harbour - where the American Cup was held. We also got to see where the formula one race is held. Hit the beach, for some paella (thanks Vicente) and a good nap on the 2 hour bus journey home. The weather in Valencia on the Sunday was lucky, the sun was shining for the trip to the beach, shame the heavens have opened here in Alcoy :( no snow tho, unlucky all the people back in Britain.
So another week teaching, got a long weekend this weekend coming. well technically every weekend is a long weekend since I don't work Fridays, but I get Monday and Wednesday off next week too. Most of my classes are cancelled on Tuesday, so hopefully it will be a fun filled time
until then
