Sevilla - really hot and a beautiful city - nothing more to say.
Apart from the map reading skills of me and the new found friend, Tam, left a lot to be desired. The instructions to reach our hostel baffled us enough without the added problems of things not being on the map, us holding the map upside down and just the general (and i'm tying not to be sexist) women can't read maps thing.
We did stubble upon a fair few different lovely things whilst lost and also whilst we were misplaced, both generally adding up to the same thing. Any way the cathedral and the tower are obviously worth the effort and the money, cause the views are breathtaking, but that might have something to do with the long steep walk up to the top and not the actual view.
The gardens and their peacocks also are worth the visit, even more so if you are a student, cause you get in free, but for me a whopping €7, god damn not having fake student ID. This is the case in most of Seville, and they are very strict on looking at it, cause we tried to get me in for cheaper in some places like the bull fighting ring, but we failed. The ring is nice, would have been nicer if there hadn't been a big white gazebo in the middle, but these things can't be helped. I didn't actually see a fight, which I think i'm glad of, but i'm not entirely sure. I want to see, but only because I want to say I've seen, if that makes any sense.
So lots of different things, all worth the effort and the money - the flamenco dance, now this is a story. Saturday night and Tam and I had planned to go see a show. However firstly we wanted to make sure we could find the train station since that is where you get the bus to the airport from. We set of, with someone to help us, after 10mins he said, its a straight road to the station. Perfect!!! we found it no problem, and then we spent more than 30mins looking for the correct bus stop. Tired and hungry we stopped for food, with the intention of going to the show after. Now its late, after 11, and we both had to get up reasonably early to leave the next day, so gutted but sensible, we thought we should head home. So we walk, and we walk and yep we walk, things are beginning to not seem very familiar so looking at our map, probably upside down, we pick our direction, and we walk and we walk and we once again look and the map and have absolutly no idea where we are, or where our hostel is. Thinking we have figured it out, we walk, baring in mind it is well past midnight now, and still trying to find where we were staying. Eventually, after stopping a fair few times, and walking in what turned out to not only be the complete wrong direction, but also in circles. We got a taxi and decided getting the bus to the station was the easiest option. Or so we thought. Turned out due to roadworks the bus wasn't running, and we had to reventure to the trainstation by foot the next day. Made it out of Seville in one piece so wasn't all too bad, but I advise anyone ever travelling with me or Tam not to trust us with maps.
Highlights - the view from the towers, and the Plaza de Espana and good cheap ass tapas. Although tourists beware one restuarant tried to con me out of €10 on my bill, by just not giving me the correct change, think I'm stupid, well think again!!!
