Up early and out to the bodega for breakfast and a Starbucks (even a vacation needs a routine). Then, much to Logan's liking we got in a cab to the Museum of Natural History. We went up Central Park East and then cut through the park to the museum. That place was a MAD HOUSE. The line to get tickets was at least a 45 min wait. So... iPhone to the rescue. While in the Teddy Roosevelt lobby I bought tickets on-line and went to an open kisosk, collected my will-call tickets and we "cut" in front of everyone!
The museum is HUGE. Four floors of animals, bones. science, artifacts, etc. While there we looked outside and it had started to snow! This was going to be a big time NYC day. After a few hours we departed the museum (now a two hour wait with the line outside) and took a cab to Soho.
Pulled up right in front of the Adidas store... Gary was pleased. From there we walked along Spring stopping here and there. Jayme enjoyed an extended visit to All Saints while Ciara took some pics in the snow and Logan and Gary checked out about a dozen other shops. We all ended up hungry with no idea where to go. We just so happened upong a sign that said Coal Oven so we headed over there. Turns out we walked right into Lombardi's pizza place.
Lombardi's is the first pizza parlor in Manhattan. The coal oven is the original oven from 1905 and the pizza was excellent. While eating we watched the snow turn into rain and when we left it was COLD. We hit the subway and took a nice little ride down to Grand Central.
Big subway terminal... lot's of shops... HUGE Apple Store... Magnolia's Bakery cupcakes. Then off to Time Square. As soon as we got there Ciara made a b-line for the Yankee's Dugout Shop... then Logan relized we were across the street from the 4 story Toys-R-Us with the Ferris Wheel in the middle. He was so wide eyed. We rode the ride in the Toy Story space ship then went to check out the Jedi, T-Rex and Lego NYC.
Finally exausted and ready to relax we walked the 15 or so blocks home and everyone snacked for dinner... except Ciara. She made the right call and got a pastrami sandwich from the world famous Carnegie Deli. Gotta do the whole NY experience, right?
