So day 3 started with everyone sleeping in...except Jayme. While she went for a walk Logan woke up came running in to tell me "we lost Mama." Once we all got up and got going we had breakfast at the Europa Cafe and then headed into Central Park.
We entered the park from the Central Park South side and Logan made a b-line for the big rock hill. After some climbing and pictures we headed further into the park. We walked the main "hall" and ended at the fountain and stairs.... where the Avengers sent Thor and Loki back home! After a bit more wandering we found the Imagine Circle and our time in the park was done.
We hopped the subway and made our way down to the Village and Chelsea. We had lunch at Chelsea Market and then walked the High Line and did some shopping. However, Logan had one thing on his mind....
The Statue of Liberty Enlightening the World.... Battery Park is undergoing a complete renovation and the Statue and Ellis Island are closed since hurricane Sandy... they re-open July 4, 2013. There we some people offering a harbor boat ride but we decided to take a round trip on NYC's classic Statten Island Ferry. The ferry passes right by Lady Liberty and Logan had a lot of fun being on a big boat in the Hudson.
After our "cruise" Jayme and Ciara were hungry for Chinese food.... so, back to the subway and a train hop or two later we were in Chinatown. We walked around a bit and settled on Shanghai Asian Cuisine on Mott Street. What a perfect choice. EXCELLENT food and even better service. After dinner we walked up to Little Italy for some dessert and ended up at Cafe Palermo... home of the "Cannoli King" and we had great coffee and desert.
After such a long and busy day, I hailed a cab and we headed back to the hotel. In the cab Logan started to coplain his tummy hurt... so we spent the cab ride reminding him that he can not throw up in the cab! As luck would have it, it did not throw up and we made it back safe and sound.
