Our stay in Golspie was great last night we had a good nights sleep and a nice breakfast in the morning (I got told off by the lady who wouldn't stop talking for not eating it all ... Sorry). After being able to get away from here after having a half hour conversation about how she keeps bees we set off just after 10:00.
It was a great day for cycling today much different from yesterday. We did around 65 miles with hardly any wind and a day full of sunshine! I even took off my trousers and got the legs out for all to see!
Half way point was crossed and we stopped at a little roadside cafe for some lunch. I brought a panini for an extortionate price of £5.65 and dad got a latte that tasted like the stale water in his water bottle from the day before. My lunch was nice anyway!
The first part of the ride was nice and steady mostly flat road, until we got to the last 10 Miles which always feel the longest anyway the hills started to become apparent. After climbing almost 1000ft above sea level we made our decent to our destination in Drumnadrochit. I've never been so scared going 35 mph down a hill so steep with hairpins. I could smell my brakes as they were burning up .. Thankfully I made down in one peice!
Drumnadrochit is a town next to Loch Ness where the famous monster lives of course. Hopefully we will have a chance to find it on tomorrow's ride!!
Tonight we are staying our first hostel, our night includes a stag doo that is going on in the bar which will be fun when trying to get to sleep! Other than that it's not too bad!
So after a good ride today and a huge Indian for dinner we are both ready for bed n preparation for another 70 mile ride tomorrow to Glencoe.
