I have had an absolutely excellent time in Sydney. Iam still here, We will
have been here 7 days by the time we leave on tuesday. We are going
down to Melbourne to see the girls from Koh Phangan. On friday it was
lillies birthday. We went to Manley beach, we got a ferry from the Opera
House and it took about 30 minutes to get there. Manley was amazing, it
was an absolutely brilliant place, beautiiful. The beach was surprisingly
quiet and it was full of really cool funky surf shops, so I was in heaven.
Although I tried to not spend too much money!! We came back early, had
some dinner then went out for lillies birthday. We had drinks in our room
before and we managed to get a group of about 10/15people to come out which
was really nice for Lil. Then we went out to a club called The Gaff which
was really fun, me and lisa ended up danncing on the bar.. ONLY because
we got free drinks!! It was veryt funny and at this point the bar was really
quiet. We ended up walking home which was quite commical.
The next day the weather was quite bad so we ended up going shopping iin
Bondi Junction, it was just like West Quay nothing special. We didnt end up
buying anything just searching for the mc donalds to use the wifi.. which
didnt work!! Pain. We got ready to go for a few drinks in Darling Harbour
in the evening, its supposed to be beautiful.. when we went to leave it
was absolutely pissing it down which was annoyinng so we ended up just chilling
in the hostel, watching films and attempting to upload photos to facebook
which didnt work, hense the lack of photos at the minute.
That brings us to yesterday when we went to the Sydney Wildlife Centre. We
went with Lisa and Kat, It was good, we got to see Kangeroos and Koala bears
which was pretty cool, kangeroos are weird looking things! After that
we went to have a look around China town, and to Paddys market, where ugg
boots were like 40/50 quid. Although I didnt get any. After looking around the
market the sun came out so we went to get some lunch iin a beautiful
harbour side resturant and then went for a sleep in the darling harbour park.
Today we are going back to Bondi with Kat and Lisa, its there last day in
Sydney. We are heading to Melbourne tomorrow and then going to head back up
to Byron Bay.
Hope all is well at home.
MELBOURNE - GREAT OCEAN ROAD
I went on a trip to the great ocean road yesterday, the trip was fantastic.
Our first stop was Bell's Beach which is a world renoun beach for surfing
it looked very impressive but there were no surfers there - the waves
werent big enough. It was good to see though, before we got to the beach
the area was covered in Surf Shop outlets, probably the best place in the
world but we didnt stop there!!
After Bells beach we went to the lighthouse from Round the Twist.. it was
a really good view but the song just got stuck in my head!! it was cool.
We then basically drove the Great Ocean Road for about an hour, the views
were ammazing!! We then arrived at a stop where we got to spot Koala's
in the wild,it was pretty ammazing. We saw one right up a tree and then
me and Lillie walked of and managed to spot a koala at eye height it was
about a metre away from us so it was pretty cool.
We moved on to have some lunch and we went too a really nice little cafe
and had fish and chips, they were proper sea side fish and chips it was
soo tasty!
after lunch we went for a rainforest walk. It was really cool. The trees
were the biggest trees EVER hahhahahahaha.
We arrived at the 12 apostiles at about 4 and one of the lads wanted to go
on a helicopter ride, we all got out and had a look and 9 out of 11 of us
went on. It only cost £30 and was actually the most awmmazing thing ever.
there wa 3 of us in the helicopter and it was just incrredible, We got out
over the apostiles and then one of the seat belts was hanging out so
we had to go back to the base and sort it out. So effectively we got two
rides. We were in the air the second time for about 15 minutes and we had
a right laugh with the pilot. We got a crazy turn in there and he basically
turnt us upside down.
STEFFAN MY ROOMATE IS A HERO.
Surprisingly steffan wrote that.. haha he is a really nice guy though.
After the helicopter ride we went to the tour guides secret spot to watch
the sun go down. We were out on a rock like pride rock then all just sat
silently to watch the sun set. It was such a relaxing momment. We then got
absolutely abused by mosquitos. When we all got back in the van it was
so funny because there was mosquitos everywhere and all you could was
bang bang bang when everyone was killing them, there were corpses everywhere.
We went home via Colac which is the place where everyone in Neighbours
disapears to. It is a proper sleepy hillbilly town. We had a right laugh
with our tour guide here!
Soundwaves Festival.
Soundwaves festival was really really good. We ended up going because a
guy who checked us into oour dorm room in Melbourne was like you guys should
go here, we ended up running around for about 2 hours to find tickets
but it was so worth it. it was brilliant. We arrived at about 12.30 and
went straight to watch Less than Jake. The festival was absolutely packed.
We got a bit drunk and started watching all the bands. It was so civalised
the festival, unlike in England and you could get so close to the front.
Literally metres away from the bands which was awesome. It was a really
really hot day which meant we had to pay loads for drinks but it was cool.
We got corn dogs which was funny. We met some cool australian guys and
we are hopefully being shown around St Kilda tonight or tomorrow for a sunday
drinking session, apparently its really big on a sunday to be drinking here
everyone chills out by the beach in nice little cafe's and gets drunk.
We got home at about 10 ish after seeing loads of bands and we hung out in
our lobby with our roomies which was cool. They are pretty cool guys. Today
we are going to chill out, spend no money hopefully. I have a parcel
which I need to send home to lighten my load and I'm not using all my clothes
and brought a few bits along the way so these need to go home. Its really
heavy so i dread to think what its going to cost me!!
