So have just been out for a Peking duck dinner, which was nice though I preferred the fried sweetcorn! The tour group consists of 2 other brits, 1 spaniard, 1 canadian, 1 kiwi and 1 scandanavian. Plus our chinese guide Dragon! Off to the forbidden city and tian'anmen square tomorrow, followed by a Kung Fu show in the evening.
I have already enquired as to whether you can hug the pandas in Chengdu, and the answer is yes (for an additional fee)...result!
Checked where we are due to be on the 29th April, which is also one of the groups birthday, and we'll be in a mountain top monastery so won't be watching the royal wedding or having any b'day drinks that day!
I have a nice roomie for the next few nights; Claire from uk, and as there are 3 of us individual girls the single room gets rotated, which is a bonus.
Have learned and practised 1 chinese word so far: xiexie (thank you); I shall try to master a new one per day!
