Arrived in the crazy city of Chongqing after a pleasant enough 7hr bus journey, in the middle of which we ate our lunch in a police station as it had comfy sofas and they didn't seem to mind!
Had to actually put my bag on my back for the first time to get across the sandy river bank to the boat - our home for the next 3 nights. Thought our luck was in when we boarded a swish boat, welcomed by a brass band, only to be ushered through to the next adjoining one - not so glam but at least it has proper loos! The Yangtze pearl.
Sat on deck awaiting cast off, then it's down the Yangzi we go.
Vegas just floated past - aka a dinner cruise, like the one pictured.
