Ahn's Adoption Story
Thanks to Candy's friend Karen and her knowledge of China and its culture, we were able to gain some additional insight into Ahn. We learned that it is normal for Chinese babies not to crawl because the floors are tyipcally too dirty. Even though our current hotel could use an upgrade (for western standards), we went for it.
We had another successful evening of sleeping through the night. Last night, Ahn slept 11 hours. We have pushed his wake up time back an hour and are now getting up at 6:00 AM. When he wakes, he is HUNGRY!! There is an IMMEDIATE desire to eat. In terms of sleeping, the first two nights, Trevor and I switched off and we each co-slept with Ahn. Last night, he fell asleep on the bed and Trevor moved him into the crib positioned in between our two beds. Yes, it is Bert & Ernie style sleeping here in China. In the middle of the night Ahn got up with a horrified look on his face, which immediately melted Dad's heart. That was the end of the crib for that evening. Tonight we will try again and if he wakes up, let him cry it out a bit.
Wish us luck. Tommorrow we are off to Guangzhou. It will be our first test with the airport and flying. Ahn is still a bit under the weather with his cold and we think an ear ache. Thank you Kerry for the flying tips. We will keep them in our bag of tricks.
