Star City!
Okay...I had to come up with something. Anything. First off, I'm out of things to say. Second, I'm running out of money with this pace and lastly schoolwork has got the best of me. How's that?
BUT sure, life's good over here in the Southern Hemisphere. Fall is already at our doorstep. It is getting colder and darker. Today was a good example. Very windy and temperature around 15 degrees. What it also means is that you can expect equivalent temperatures INSIDE. Therefore I will have to buy myself a heater from K-Mart shortly.
Since Broken Hill, it has been assignments, readings and procrastination. However, I did experience the thrill of the local Casino, "Star City". The location of this luxurious joint is beautiful. Right by Darling Harbor, which is arguably the main entertainment area in Sydney. In fact, it is also the only Casino in Sydney (or so I heard)... and consequently the whole place was JAM-PACKED. Finally we managed to squeeze our way to the cheapest blackjack table (10 AUD min bets) and eventually left the table having doubled our money! Sweet. Doesn't happen too often.
So what's next? NEW ZEALAND! Yep. One week to go and then we're off to Christchurch for six days. The airfare was real cheap and the Southern island should be awesome. I'm going there with a Dutch and a Canadian guy, both from the logistics discipline. The plan is to rent a car and drive. First to Dunedin, then to the Southern Alps...and from there I'm sure we'll find lots to occupy our time with.
Sorry for neglecting my five-star blog. I will try to improve...thanks for the comments. Enjoy the Northern spring, keep in touch and stay tuned for some entries from the kiwiland!
