Well, what can I say! After an 8 hour flight from Melbourne to HCMC then a 2 hour internal flight from there to Hanoi I'm stoked to say I've made it to my hotel in the Old Quarter in one piece. All good on my own, only bit was the transiting from the international airport to the domestic airport at HCMC which was quite unorganised - Vietnam Airlines provided a minibus but there seemed to be alot of confusion re bags / boarding passes etc.

Nothing could have prepared me for the harrowing drive from Hanoi airport to the hotel. It was mad, I honestly thought my time was up. This was 8.30pm and there are motorbike/scooters everywhere with at least 2 and sometimes a family of four all perched on somehow with this driver guy ducking in between them and slow buses/cars then constantly heading into the path of oncoming traffic. Nobody stops for anyone they just leave their hand stuck on the horn so you can imagine what the round-abouts are like! Anyway thank god that's over, I've had to raid the mini bar for a stiff drink!!! Lovely clean & safe hotel so all is good and will definitey sleep well tonight.
