The Veiled City.
So day one begins after the longest flight ever in cramped conditions. After about 16hours travel time, the boeing 747 descends into miles of skyscrapers shrouded by a white veil. Im not sure what this is, it smells sweet but smokey and looks like fog although you can see the blue sky above you. Its very warm which makes a change from what we are used to. Finally time to relax after a very relentless journey. We experienced severe turbulance when we were flying through the night just to the right of the Amazon basin. The plane ducked and dived and shook quite vigourously for quite some time. It was very scary and left me quite shaken and nervous, that when your stomach is already weak from revoulting plane food is not a good mix.
We stopped off at about 5am in Sao Paolo which is huge, you could just see dense lights stretching for miles and miles. We spent about an hour there and then it was another 2 and a half hours on the connection to Buenos Aires where we departed the plane and proceeded to sell both our lives to a taxi driver for a mere 92 pesos. My knuckles where white from gripping in fear. It seems road safety is not that important in Argentina.
Anyway, we have yet to be shown to our room so I feel like a much needed gulp or some good cold water and a little lie down on the soft leather sofas that i can see to the right of me.
Lots of love
