Hi, we are now officially travellers! We spent our last day in Auckland visiting the museum - a bit like the Natural History Museum, and we managed to catch a maori show where they told us all about their customs showed us their weapons and of course did the Haka! Thomas was fascinated and is working out how I can make him a maori costume when we get home! We then went up the Sky Tower which was amazing, it's higher than the Eiffel tower and the veiws were absolutely breathtaking. We were lucky that a friendly english couple took pity on us and gave us their free VIP tickets which meant we could go even higher up to the sky deck. We stopped for a beer and an icecream and watched the bungy jumpers as they flew past us. It was great and the boys loved it, especially standing on the glass floor and looking down! We then retired to the hotel rooftop pool and bed.
I don't know what day it is now but we left the hotel the following morning, we were sad to leave and went to pick up the campervan. Unfortunately we had a bit of a wait as there was a queue of people waiting. Anyway we finally got it and then while Al was checking it over with the girl he noticed that one of the front tyres was completely bald! Nobody seemed particularly bothered but we refused to take it until it had been changed! So they took it off again and gave us a car so we could go to the supermarket while they changed it. Eventually left at 12ish - much later than planned. I sat in the back with the boys, it's a noisy bumpy ride but great, we love it. We had about a 3 hour trip to the campsite in the Coromandel peninusla - didn't go down too well but the scenery was amazing and we stopped on the way at a lovely little town called Taurui where we paddled in the esturary water which was incredibly warm and had an icecream. Got to the campsite about 4ish. Must admit we're a bit disappointed, feel a bit crammed in and not as idyllic as the pictures. We headed down to the beach and played then back to the campervan for tea. Put the boys to bed upstairs - they love it and would quite happily spend the whole time up there! Al and I tried to sort out a bit - it finally hit home how much stuff we've got and how we're going to struggle to put it anywhere or find anything!! We got a bit despondent but I'm sure today in the light of day we'll sort it!
