Hamjambo!! Im still alive everyone!! Sorry I have not written. We have been on the road for days and when we did stop we were in small villages without internet service. Im still having a blast! We have done so ,uch in the last few days. Just to quickly catch up, Ive been hiking in 2 different rain forests with the most amazing sights. We visited an orphangewhich was the most amazing experience. The kids were so beautiful. We delivered soap and I had some candy (or pipi in Swahili) that we handed out. It was a really touching experience. We got to spend a day with some of the elders in the community and watched them make clay pottery and baskets made out of grass. Then we got to make some our selves. Our professor and his wife celebrated there wedding anniversary so we were able to experience a traditional African party. Man can these Africans dance!! We had a blast. We were even the special guests of the evening and got to sit infront of 50 or so people. On my birthday we got to Iringa at 2 am but when I arrived they had a birthday cake that said "Happy birthday Tyler" and they sang happy birthday to me. Then they sang a beautiful Swahili hymn to me and warmly welcomed us. Ryan's mother in law gave me a kilago which is a mt made out of long grass that takes about 2 weeks to make. It is huge anf beautiful. I was so touched by their warmth and their welcome. I felt like I wa part of there family. Well I wish I could write more but we are heading out on a 4 day safari!!! YAYAYAYAY!!! This is my favorite part!! So mom and dad, dont worry if you dont hear from me. Im just hanging out with the elephants and the zibras. I wish I could bring everyone here sometime. It is an amazing place. I love you Jared!! Call you soon!!!
