Hey Family and Friends,
Checking back in on things here in Dehra Dun. So I've recently got sick once again. It started with a little tickle in the throat on Monday and progressively got worse until Thursday night I had a small fever. I already got medicine and took all of Friday off to rest. I am feeling much better, still a little heavy in the head, but I am on my way to recovery.
Things in Dehra Dun have been pretty much me just hanging around my house. With no one around it can be a little lonesome during trravel but I am with someone most of the time. I was spending most of my time at Dr. Gandhi's or at the homestay of which Sunny or Mrs. Sehti kept me company. Sunny is a very fun guy and last night at midnight we stayed up watching the elections on CNN World. Russia has just invaded Georgia, I hope everyone is keeping tabs on that. In this world you get so much more insight on things pertaining to America but from the world perspective. Sunny is an admirer of the US and it feels like most of India is the same way. It's just interesting that the US is being watched so closely in this times. We have to remember that Americans not only have to worry about what's happening locally, which seems all Americans care about is rising gas prices these days, but also to realize that the world looks to Americans as world leader still even though past events have somewhat tainted the US image. But even now, people still look to the US for leadership. Watching the tv last night I found it embarrising that while the world looks to the US to form plans for the future in international affairs the election is currently being decided not by who will lead America to create a sustainable future but whichever candidate plans to save us .50 on a gallon of gasoline.
Tonight I am excited. Hopefully, we will be getting tickets to a Bollywood movie which although willl be only in Hindi with no subtitles I think will still be enjoyable. For those of you who do not know, Bollywood is India's version of Hollywood and is probably even more a part of their culture than movies are to us. They're huge not only here but clear across the Middle-East. Which makes sense is to why Bollywoods turns out more movies than Hollywood. Anyway, I am pretty excited and hopefully we can get somer tickets.
Other than that things are going pretty well. Next week I reunite with the Gang and we head off to Mousorie. Hope all is well at home and just to let you know today is the halfway point of my trip. I will be home in five more weeks
