New Delhi11:30Midnight,Arrival! Finally! The trip from Detroit to Amsterdam wasn't bad but the trip to new Dehli wasn't as comfortable.Further and further I was getting away from America.I noticed it when mostly when everyone around me wasn't speaking English. The announcements on the flight weren't in English to start off and because of jet lag and being awake for 14-15 hours I was starting to tucker out.I sat next to an Indian couple and because I wasn't familiar with taboos about talking to married women (the wife sat between the husband and myself) as a young single male I wasn't sure how that was blowing over.So there I was, feeling completely cut off from human contact while being in very tight quarters. Finally the plane had landed and I was the last one to leave because one of my carry ons was in locker 33 and I was in seat 27.Ironically, the bin in 26 was completely empty but because it wasn't open I had assumed it was full. One thing I want to mention is that while on this plane I had agonizing throbbing pain between my third and fourth digits by head of the metacarpals. In fact it still hurts.I noticed it when I was writing in my journal and it really made the trip rather uncomfortable. In fact that more than anything kept my focus purely on my hand and not as much on anyone around me.Whether that was a blessing or a curse we'll never know.So Delhi is humid, humid, and humid.I was sweating pretty well in my thin shirt and shorts. It's 12:00 am right now and if I take one step out of my air conditioned room it wouldn't take long for me to start sweating. There were some very interesting smells and I have to take a little more time thinking about them and jotting down exactly what they are.Horns, horns, and more horns.Cars honk everywhere and there really is NO RULES OF THE ROAD.Don't believe me.It was actually quite funny but to take a short cut to get to our hotel, the driver turned down a one way street, in the wrong direction. It was alright. We just dodged a couple buses as we made our way down the shoulder. It was okay though, the right turn signal was on the whole time to let people know we planned staying right. It actually wasn't terribly scary as the driver was definitely poised and I could tell this was not the first time this had happened.Nor did it look like from the other cars we were doing anything out of the ordinary. The hotel room is pretty nice actually and from what I hear how things are going to be like I'd better enjoy this AC while I can.Tomorrow got to start early so I'll end here.Night!Taylor
